¡Hola todos! Hi everyone! I'm Sra. DeMorris, Spanish 3, Spanish4/SUNY 1, and Spanish 5/SUNY 2 teacher at North Salem Middle/High School. I also teach a French 1 class this year as well.
I was born and raised here in North Salem. I had many wonderful teachers and received an amazing education. My French and Spanish teachers instilled in me a love for languages and an appreciation for other cultures. The summer before my senior year in high school I traveled to Argentina as an exchange student where I spent 10 weeks living with a family and going to school. It was an amazing experience, and the travel bug had me hooked! In college I spent a year in Barcelona, Spain where, again, I lived with a family and attended the university. Many of my friends from home were also in Europe at the time, so I traveled all over Europe visiting them and meeting some really incredible and friendly people.
I started teaching in 2001 in White Plains, but I have been teaching at North Salem for 11 years. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Upsala College in New Jersey (Majors: International Business, Human Resource Management, and Spanish. Minor: French) and my Masters of Science in Education from Iona College in New York. I also hold an Instructional Technology graduate certificate from the University of Maryland University College. I am certified to teach French and Spanish in grades 7 - 12. I absolutely love teaching and I consider myself very lucky to be doing something that I enjoy so much.
